Today, Cisco issued its eighth annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report. This document describes our efforts to use our technology and expertise to multiply our impact on people, communities, and the planet we live on.

The fiscal year 2012 (FY12) CSR Report underscores Cisco’s approach and commitment to act responsibly, operate sustainably, and make positive contributions to communities around the world.

Sustainable Cities & Technology: Insights & Final Thoughts from Meeting of the Minds 2012

I had the opportunity to attend Meeting of the Minds in San Francisco last week. It was an amazing event that brought together thought leaders from the world’s most innovative organizations to spotlight fresh ideas in urban connectivity and sustainability.

The emerging themes centered around innovation, leadership, and enabling connectivity. City Re-Development Starts with Building Retrofits: What Happens When the World’s Top Building Owners and Managers Debate their Future?

More than 1600 delegates convened at the 2012 Every Building Conference & Expo two weeks ago in Seattle, hosted by Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. The conference gathered some of the industry’s best minds and biggest investors for three packed days of learning opportunities aimed at professionals representing all types of buildings.

Cisco Talks Commercial Real Estate Technology at 2012 Every Building Conference & Expo

Seattle, famous for technology and innovation, couldn’t be a more perfect place to attend and participate in the 2012 Every Building Conference & Expo hosted by Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International and BUILDINGS. This summer meeting is one of commercial real estate’s premier events and a place to develop new ideas and showcase Cisco’s commitment to the smart+connected real estate industry.

Cisco’s participation at the conference will be multi-faceted. Leadership and Vision – Two critical ingredients for achieving regional resiliency

On May 24, 2012, the non-profit Sustainable Silicon Valley and its partners gathered at West Summit 2012, with hundreds of others, to explore interlocking themes: Global Trade, Regional Resilience, and Climate Volatility. The Summit featured high-caliber speakers and sponsors from corporations, governmental agencies, NGOs and educational institutions.

I was part of a panel entitled, “Leadership and Vision to Achieve Regional Resiliency,” which focused on the twin challenges facing cities — sustainability and resiliency.
