Why Innovation Is Key To Connecting The Next 3 Billion
It is incredibly challenging to provide high-speed connectivity in rural areas. Service providers need to innovate and go beyond the traditional network deployment models to provide broadband connectivity in difficult-to-reach areas. Open RAN provides a paradigm shift beyond traditional network deployment and will help connect the remaining half of the world's population.
Open vRAN Ecosystem – Enabling a Better Mobile Architecture
We’ve had a busy six months architecting and building solutions, executing operator demos and trials, helping to define open interfaces and management, building business models to compare costs of various solutions, partnering with the UK government to help address the digital divide with 5G, and much more. There’s more to come on many of those items. In this update we’ll focus primarily on our activities around this week’s MWC Americas show in Los Angeles.
Unleash the power of 5G
By enabling greater flexibility and capacity, 5G will mean that new service areas like network as a service and virtual reality can come into their own. And the internet of things (IoT) will continue to expand. From connected cars and healthcare to smart cities and smart homes, there are expected to be more than 3.3 billion mobile-connected IoT devices by 2021.
