Gordon Thomson is the director of Scotland and Ireland for Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in

networking for the Internet. He has an enviable track-record of working with organisations throughout

Scotland and Ireland, sectors ranging from finance, education, petrochemicals and manufacturing.

Prior to joining Cisco, Gordon worked for Cable & Wireless Communications where he was

responsible for designing global networks on for customers including Hewlett Packard, British Airways

and SWIFT.

Gordon is a non Executive Director for ScotlandIS, the trade body for software, telecomms and IT in

Scotland, as well as consultant for various Scottish Government advisory boards on innovation,

productivity and how ICT can have a positive impact on the economy.

Whilst passionate about showing companies how technology can win them competitive advantage and

drive business productivity, the former Scottish Schoolboys’ golf champion is equally fanatical away

from work, currently playing off a handicap of two.
