Tapan Mehta brings more than 15 years of healthcare information technology, marketing, and business development leadership as Cisco’s Global Healthcare Lead. Tapan is responsible for managing the development and marketing efforts for healthcare solutions including clinical workflow improvement, telemedicine, patient safety, regulatory requirements, and EMR integration. In addition, his team is responsible for developing the overall strategy, execution, and go-to-market plans for Cisco’s business within the Healthcare sector. Tapan is passionate about helping customers and the Healthcare industry transform its processes and workflows by leveraging technology, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of patient care and clinical workflows with improved business outcomes.
Prior to joining Cisco, Tapan worked at Altera Corporation and Intel Corporation in various management capacities. Over the years, Tapan has expanded his skills in the areas of strategic marketing, product planning, business development, product management, product marketing and sales. His broad set of skills enables him to execute and deliver on complex business problems. He has developed and managed a broad range of advanced infrastructure technologies including wireless, security, data center, virtualization, cloud computing, and video.
Tapan is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he studied electrical engineering with minor in business administration. Tapan has taken additional coursework in areas such as leadership and team management, effective negotiation skills, and sales training. He has spoken at several healthcare conferences such as HIMSS, ATA, and Medical Device Connectivity. Tapan continues to be an active member of HIMSS and AAMI and has authored over dozen articles/papers in industry-leading publications.
