A Rich Partner Ecosystem for a Successful Cloud Strategy
I continue to bet on Cloud Computing (I am not referring to the horse that won the Preakness Stakes ahead of ‘Classic Empire’) but as I place that bet … my assumption … is that the various major industry players will continue to work together in a meaningful way toward the progressive standardization of cloud technologies.
Cloud and On-Premises: The Best of Two Worlds
Let’s be honest, when most IT people are questioned about cloud, immediately they would mention either Amazon (AWS) or Microsoft Azure; some may also mention Google Cloud Platform, IBM SoftLayer or even Rackspace. All of them are Public Cloud providers with their own expertise and offering as well as market share. According to a Forbes recent article, the more AWS and Azure compete to win customers, the greater the innovation and growth in Public Cloud adoption. The article has some interesting data points but, for the purpose of this blog,
VGA Cables and WiFi Access as Cloud Adoption Predictors
I spend most of my time educating channel partners, most of them Value-Added Resellers (VARs) on how Cisco CloudCenter can help them help their customers with a hybrid cloud strategy. But before I get into the details of the event, […]
Millennials About To Rock…The Cloud Salutes You!

Look at all the innovations that our impatience and need for convenience has sparked. The moment we wake up, we check our mails, read the day’s news and pay our bills all from the convenience of our smart phones. We ask Alexa to book us an Uber, grab our morning cuppa on the way to work, and pay for it all with our phone or even our watch. If there ever was a time when impatience was rewarded, it is now!
Check-In…to a IT Service Broker Model
On a recent trip to Silicon Valley, I stayed at a Marriott near the office. Although it was my first time at this particular hotel, I generally knew what to expect; comforts of the room, consistency of friendly staff, pervasive wireless internet access, and a simple bottle of water upon arrival, having stayed at other Marriott properties in the past. I count on this familiarity, this experience, to keep my work/life balance in check while I travel. Many well-traveled IT Pros can relate to this scenario as it plays out many times a day, across multiple industries all over the world.
