If you’ve followed our story so far, you’ve seen how our Marketing Revenue Operations team used an enablement playbook to turn big ideas into structured action. But what does that look like in real life? In part two of this series, I want to share how this playbook is driving real outcomes for our team, our customers, and partners—and some lessons anyone can apply right now.

Making AI Work: Real-world wins for our team

It’s one thing to have a plan; it’s another thing entirely to see it pay off. Here are a few ways our enablement framework is making a difference:

  1. Faster innovation, smarter decisions

In moving from proof-of-concept to production in a structured way, we’ve cut time-to-market for new solutions. For example, our sales contact center is now assisted by AI to support thousands of customer interactions every week—saving time for our sales teams and delivering a smoother experience for visitors.

      2. Trust and security at every step

Cisco’s Enterprise AI Governance process helps ensure our AI solutions are safe, secure, and aligned with our principles prior to launch Customers and partners know they can count on us to do the right thing.

      3. Empowering people

Upskilling our workforce has paid off. With over 50,000 Cisco employees earning AI badges, we’ve seen a surge in new ideas and enthusiasm across teams. Programs like “Edge Up” have turned leaders into AI champions, who are now helping their teams innovate responsibly.

     4. Real value for customers and partners

Our structured approach means we’re not just experimenting—we’re delivering real results. For example, our Webex AI Assistant Studio is helping customers automate meeting notes and follow-ups, freeing up time for more meaningful work. Our partners are leveraging our playbook to scale their own AI initiatives, with Cisco as a trusted advisor.

Lessons learned: What you can apply today

My biggest takeaway? You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Start by defining your domains—strategy, governance, security, and so on. Find the right people to own each area, give them the tools and authority they need, and build your approach around clear goals and outcomes.

Remember:

  • Collaboration is key. No one can do this alone.
  • Accountability matters. Assign clear ownership and make sure everyone knows their role.
  • Start small, scale smart. Prove value early, then build on your wins.

Looking ahead

AI isn’t just a buzzword—it’s shaping the future of business. An enablement playbook helped our team turn uncertainty into confidence and possibility into impact. As we continue to evolve, we’re committed to sharing what works (and what doesn’t), so our customers and partners can thrive in the AI era.

If you have questions, ideas, or want to share your own AI journey, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s keep learning together.
