Cisco UCS X-Series
Cisco UCS X-Series modular design makes adding GPUs easy
Cisco believes you shouldn’t have to create hardware silos to meet the needs of an application and provide your users the best experience. Now with Cisco UCS X-Fabric Technology and GPU announcements, we are expanding the portfolio to address a much wider range of capabilities to tackle the most demanding of applications while offering the modularity needed to face future demands without compromise.
Cisco UCS Unified Fabric now 100Gb end-to-end for X-Series
Since 2009, Cisco UCS Unified Fabric—with data, storage, and management traffic on a single cable—has been a key differentiator for UCS servers in the industry. This simplified server and networking infrastructure now becomes a low latency, end-to-end solution for your applications and user experience.
Oracle Database 19c on Cisco X210c M6 – WOW!
Oracle database 19c performs extremely well running on the Cisco X210c compute node. Testing using Oracle SLOB (Silly Little Oracle Benchmark) and Oracle Swingbench prove excellent scalability for IOPS growth and high transaction sperminute with minimum latency. Details in a new whitepaper just published by Tushar Patel, Principal Engineer, Oracle Solutions at Cisco Systems, Inc.
Expanding workloads for UCS X-Series with UCS X-Fabric Technology
We describe X-Series as having the density and efficiency of blade servers with the expandability of rack servers. First, we increased the amount of storage – going from two drives on a B-Series to six drives on a X-Series. Now we are adding GPUs to X-Series that were previously only available in rack servers.
Liquid Cooling for Computers is Cool Again – Here are the Reasons Why
Third blog in the "Future of Hardware" series, we take a deeper look into recent advancements in liquid cooled computing technology.
UCS X-Series The Future of Computing – Part 3 of 3
UCX X-Series architecture is an amalgamation of new ideas, trends, and some bets in cohesive fashion to enable heterogeneous computing. It solves the existing needs and enables customers to adopt and extend hybrid cloud model as needed while balancing TCO.
UCS X-Series- The Future of Computing – Part 2 of 3
As we move to widescale deployment, we believe that UCS X-Series architectural message is resonating extremely well as deployment feedback has been fantastic. In the first post part of the blog series, we discussed how heterogeneous computing is causing paradigm shift in computing shaping UCS X-Series architecture. In this blog we will discuss the electromechanical […]
Cisco UCS X-Series, Solution Test Drives
Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System demonstrates excellent I/O performance as a precursor for planned Oracle Database 19c testing to announce in 2 weeks.
UCS X-Series – The Future of Computing – Part 1 of 3
It has been more than decade since Cisco launched our UCS platform, a newcomer into the well-established enterprise server market. Rest is history. What has changed since then?
