John Brookbank is the Vice President for Americas Distribution Sales at Cisco. John brings a long history with resellers, a deep understanding of the reseller business, and 32 years of sales leadership experience, both direct and channels. Prior to Cisco, he held a wide range of sales leadership positions - including; Vice President and General Manager at Expanets, Regional Channel Director for Avaya, and Mid-Atlantic Sales Director for Lucent Technologies.

As a 15-year veteran of Cisco, John began as the leader for the East Channel Collaboration organization, followed by a very successful three years as the Regional Manager of the DC Metro Commercial Region – where he consistently drove double digit growth. John spent 3 years as the Manager Partner Operations for the Mid-Atlantic region where he led strong segment alignment while fostering profitability, loyalty and growth in the partner base. He has led numerous cross-functional efforts to transform internal processes and developed several initiatives to integrate channel and field sales strategies.

His most recent position was Senior Director, East Field Partner Organization. In his 7 years in that position, John’s team distinguished themselves by driving growth every quarter in Commercial, Enterprise, and SLED in the East. During his 12 years in the Partner Organization, John focused on loyalty and growth in the partner base and, of course, on profitability. Many of the initiatives his team created have been adopted and executed across APO. John currently serves as co-chair of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and, in 2016, that organization named him Man of the Year, National Capital Chapter. In 2018, his team became the top chapter in the US by raising an all-time record of $2.4 million, and this year his team’s goal is set for a challenging $2.5 million.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Maryland, College Park. John and his wife Renee live in Ashburn, Virginia. He has three children, Sydney, Spencer, and Lindsey.
