Recently I participated in Cisco’s Women of Impact as part of the International Women’s Day events. It was inspiring to be involved with these activities and share my journey with women and men alike.

For this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #BreakTheBias, I wanted to take that conversation a step further. Sharing our stories about the biases we’ve faced is only the first part. In order to truly #BreakTheBias and pave a clearer path for others, women—and men—must also reach out to other women and make sure all of our voices are heard.
International Women’s Day is a day to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s also a day that stands as a call to action for women’s equality, because there is still progress to be made. This month at Cisco we are running a series of blogs on this very important topic. Let’s all #BreaktheBias together.
I reached out to several of my female channel colleagues within Cisco and at our partner organizations and asked them a few questions about biases, advice they might have for other women, and what it means to them to #BreakTheBias.
