As a company that prioritizes partnerships, Cisco and our partners recognize that our customers are increasingly seeking experts who can guide them in acquiring outcomes and experiences through advanced technology. This has intensified the need for our traditional VAR/Resellers to transition into providing managed services to better meet their customers’ needs, strengthen relationships with current customers, attract new ones, increase revenue, and improve profitability.

According to the 23rd Annual Worldwide Partner Profitability Study by Global Touch, commissioned by Cisco Global Partner & Route to Market Sales, managed service provider (MSP) margins were found to be four times higher than traditional reselling margins. Additionally, MSP partners reported a 35% average increase in revenue, while partners who only resell technology reported an 8% decrease in revenue. As a result, one in three of our partners said that transitioning to offering managed services is a top priority. Many existing Cisco VAR/Resellers see becoming a managed service provider as a crucial opportunity to grow and transform their businesses.

MSP partners use Cisco’s top-of-the-line hardware, software, and APIs in combination with their own services, such as installation and deployment, proactive administration, monitoring and support, and outcome management. As partners advance in their managed services journey, their offerings become more sophisticated, resulting in increased value for their customers and higher margins on deals.

Cisco dedicates resources to assist partners in transitioning to managed services

To support our partners in transitioning to higher-value managed services, Cisco is enhancing its partner-led sales approach. We have tripled the number of Cisco resources available to assist partners on a local level. We are introducing products that partners can provide as a service across five main areas: Collaboration, Networking (LAN and WAN), Security, Full Stack Availability, and Datacenter. Our current managed service partners already offer over 2,500 services incorporating Cisco technologies. Many of these can be found in our offer catalog.
