I am excited to announce the promotion of Marcus Moffett to Vice President of U.S. Public Sector Engineering. Moffett and his team of 500+ Engineering Leaders, Systems Engineers, and Architects are responsible for the discovery of business and mission requirements, and the design of secure, intelligent platforms to support the digital business journeys of Cisco’s Public Sector customers.
As a 23+ year Cisco veteran, Moffett has extensive experience in the Public Sector, Enterprise, and Commercial business sectors. He has held roles with increasing responsibility starting as a Systems Engineer and progressing to Systems Engineering Manager, Senior Systems Engineering Manager, Director, and Senior Director. He also achieved his Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert Certification (CCIE #10079) in 2002.
“Marc exemplifies the absolute best of systems engineering leadership at Cisco: technical excellence, selfless leadership, and a constant drive to make himself and his team better,” said Eric Knipp, VP of Americas Systems Engineering at Cisco. “It’s an honor to call him a colleague and friend.”
Prior to Cisco, he worked as an advanced services engineer with 3Com and served as a Tech Controller in the U.S. Air Force. Moffett is an Air Force Honor Graduate and was awarded the Clark Air Base Airman of the Year. In addition, he was awarded three commendations and an achievement medal as one of the Clark Air Base Ash Warriors who volunteered to stay behind to sustain base communications and decommission Clark after its destruction by the Mt. Pinatubo volcanic eruption.
“Cisco’s Systems Engineers are the best in the business, and there are very few things outside of seeing my family thrive, that offer the satisfaction of leading this elite team. Our purpose is to empower our people to advance the next era of our US Public Sector customer’s missions.”
– Marcus “Marc” Moffett, VP of Engineering, US Public Sector
Investing in our Systems Engineering team is a core component of Cisco’s people strategy. As we continue to live out our purpose to “Power an Inclusive Future for All”, recognizing Moffett’s efforts sends a strong message to our customers and engineering community that we value their immense contribution to our success.
