I’m excited to share that Cisco HyperFlex was named the Overall Winner in the Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) category of the recently published CRN “Products of the Year for 2019”. This award reflects the hard work the Cisco team has put into the product and the continued success of Cisco partners in making HyperFlex a leader in the HCI market.
CRN’s Products of the Year – an Award for the People, by the People
As a trusted media source for solution providers, IT channel partners, and value-added resellers (VAR’s), CRN focuses on providing insights on both technology and market trends and is a valuable resource for Cisco partners. So, what did it take to be selected as an Overall Winner by CRN? It was a two-step process.
First, the CRN editors selected product finalists from among 22 top technology categories for the IT channel, ranging from software and security to on-premises infrastructure and cloud. They then surveyed more than 5000 solution providers and ask them to vote for overall category winners. The solution providers scored finalists based upon product technology, the revenue and profit opportunities the product enables for them, and how much customer demand they see for the product. The product receiving the highest overall score was named the winner in that category.
Taking a step back, the HCI vendor space is extremely competitive, with large and small players all vying for a portion of this rapidly growing multibillion-dollar market. So, taking home the top award in CRN’s HCI category is quite an honor. It also demonstrates the value the channel sees in the tight integration between HyperFlex and Cisco’s Intersight – Cisco’s Software-as-a-Service management platform – to extend the simplicity of hyper-convergence from the data center core to edge and multi-cloud.
Award-Winning Solutions Powered by HyperFlex
Being the Overall Winner in HCI is exciting on its own, but what happens when you combine multiple Products of the Year? You get award winning solutions powered by HyperFlex to support hybrid cloud, containerized workloads, and distributed operations at the edge.
We recently introduced an integrated software-defined branch solution utilizing HyperFlex Edge running Cisco SD-WAN, so I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the SD-WAN team on their award for Overall Winner in the CRN Software-Defined Networking category. Together, these products provide Cisco partners and customers a set of industry-leading solutions that can be remotely deployed anywhere in the world through Cisco Intersight.
I would also like to extend congratulations to our partners at Google Cloud Anthos on their award as Overall Winner in the CRN Hybrid Cloud category. In April of this year we expanded our partnership to introduce HyperFlex and Anthos. This joint solution gives Cisco partners and customers a flexible hybrid cloud architecture that delivers a consistent and secure Kubernetes experience across on-premises and cloud environments, with a simplified installation wizard through Intersight.
As 2019 draws to a close, I can’t help but reflect on what an exciting and successful year this has been for HyperFlex. It outpaced the competition and grew at almost twice the market, with 46.8% in revenue growth in Q2 according to IDC. It was also named a Leader in the new 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for HCI. With the addition of Overall Winner honors from CRN, I could not be prouder of the work our team has done to bring to market this world-class HCI solution. I would also especially like to extend my thanks to our Cisco partners and customers for their continued support.
