Robert Covington leads Cisco’s engineering team for the Media and Entertainment vertical in the US. As a Senior Systems Engineering manager, he leads a team of sales engineers, helping Media and Entertainment companies realize business outcomes through the use of Cisco technology. He also brings a wealth of technology transformation experience from his work with telecom and Cable Operators as they transition to voice and video distribution over IP. Prior to Cisco, Robert held software development positions at Hillsborough Country, ensuring compliance with government waste regulations. While with TECO Energy, he headed the network and systems teams, leading the implementation of network connectivity for application access and information sharing across the company’s business, gas, mining, and power generation facilities. Robert holds a B.S., Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida and is CCIE Emeritus #5893. Robert has a passion for traveling the world paragliding, snow sports, and building cool stuff.
