Ali Amagasu

Marketing Communications Manager

Ali Amagasu is not a software developer. Or system administrator. She's an enthusiastic marketer who knows just enough about technology to help the other less-technical citizens of the business world understand the value and implications of emerging products and solutions in the cloud and networking arenas.

Before coming to Cisco she worked in marketing communications for a number of Silicon Valley's largest and most successful companies, and served as a one-woman marketing department for a single, very special startup.

All of her opinions should be taken with an enormous wedge of salt.

Cloud Unfiltered Podcast, Ep 22: Security Matters, with Bryan Doerr

You are officially forgiven if data breach headlines don’t surprise you anymore. I mean honestly, can there be anything scarier than a hacker having access to all the data we each have stored with Equifax? Equifax?! Cloud Unfiltered Podcast, Episode 20: Joshua McKenty, Pivotal Cloud Foundry

Chew on this: Joshua McKenty started OpenStack at NASA. That’s right—started OpenStack at NASA. Then he started Piston, a company that sold an OpenStack distribution, which Cisco eventually bought. Now he works as the Field CTO at Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and boy does he have a lot of interesting things to say about the current […]

One day, the mainframe that the company depended on broke down. IBM techs came out and tried to fix it, but they were all too large […]

Cloud Unfiltered Podcast, Episode 18: Chris Riviere, Cisco

Cloud security is the kind of topic that can make you sigh, shake your head, and quickly look for some other, less daunting project to deal with—no doubt about it. I mean honestly—what do you even define as “cloud” in your particular environment, and what constitutes “secure”? Is your only job to worry about your […]
