Have you ever watched a video on your phone or tablet, only to have the video stop and start? While I was traveling out to here to Mobile World Congress, the exact thing happened to me as I was sitting at the airport. It’s frustrating, particularly if it happens for a long period of time or happens frequently during a 30-minute show.
We have the luxury of watching our favorite TV shows from anywhere, whenever we would like to see them. However, the network isn’t always prepared to accommodate the added data demands that video brings for all of their users.
Here at Mobile World Congress, Cisco and Akamai are demonstrating the ability for the network to provide dynamic congestion management and policy control for mobile users. The two market leaders are expanding their existing partnership to demonstrate how mobile operators can adjust the network for the best end user experience for all subscribers. In the demonstration, the policy intelligence in Cisco Policy Suite for Service Providers integrates with congestion management in the Akamai Mobile Edge. As a result, mobile subscribers can have a personalized experience to get the right video, with the right bandwidth, at the right time.
Come check out the demonstration here at Mobile World Congress in the Akamai booth, located in Hall 3, Booth 3B30. For more information, see the latest press release.
