There is big oppurtunity for cisco in Australia wit the rollout of the NBN.
Many PBX phone Systems will need to be modified or replaced. Running PBX over the NBN will mainly involve installing SIP trunks to replace PSTN and ISDN phone lines. http://www.telaustralia.com.au/landlines/sip-trunks or Hosted PBX. In most cases this will be a lot cheaper than PSTN or ISDN phone lines. The choices for most business Phone System,s will be ….
1. If you have an IP capable PBX – not much change..probably some programming by a PBX tech but thats all. No extra Hardware required. Running SIP trunks will in most cases be cheaper than PSTN or ISDN.
2. Your business has a PBX that can be upgraded to IP. In that case you can add in SIP Card or add ATAs…so some extra hardware and programming by a PBX tech.
3. In some cases neither 1 or 2 will work so it will mean either a new Hosted PBX/NBN Phone System or IP compatible PBX. This means a new PBX Phone System to replace what you have and the type of Phone System you get will depend on your business needs. http://www.telaustralia.com.au/landlines/NBN-Phone-Systems
