For any sales engineer who’s ever known the late nights, long hours, and frustrating hiccups of attempting to demo products for customers using PowerPoint or other slide deck platforms, Cisco dCloud is a game changer. dCloud is a cloud-based, self-service platform that hosts premade demos and lab content, readily available so sales engineers can provide Customers and Partners with demos, training, and sandboxes — all at the drop of a hat.
The upshot of dCloud is significant: time and cost savings, sales acceleration, and happier Customers, Partners, and Employees.
During our most recent #CiscoChat “Innovative Ways Systems Engineers Are Winning with Cisco dCloud”, we were joined by Cisco leaders
Doug Good (@dgood68), VP Americas Systems Engineering,
Ben Martin (@benmarti35), Systems Engineering Manager,
Michael Lipsey (@ccie42683), Consulting Systems Engineer, and
Fareed Fakoor (@cciepending), Systems Engineer.
Some highlights from this exciting #CiscoChat are below, and you can relive the whole chat on Storify:
How would you explain dCloud to a new user?
What’s your favorite demo available on dCloud?
How has dCloud saved you time in doing demos for Customers and Partners?
Thank you everyone for participating and making this a fun, informative, lively #CiscoChat. Until next time, #FullSpeed ahead with Cisco dCloud!

What most people don’t know is 90+% of Cisco revenues are sold through partners – and partner sellers leverage dCloud at a growth rate that will soon surpass Cisco’s internal use. Having a ubiquitous, cloud-based lab and demo platform empowers partner sellers to “show up” differently in order to “show off” what differentiates a Cisco solution. I loved how one partner described dCloud: #FMDL (Free Million Dollar Lab). We’re always looking for feedback and hope this forum keeps us on the forefront of how partner sellers use dCloud!
The SF Cisco Partner Summit was eye opening… after all, the point is to get Cisco’s products and solutions in the hands of customers and that’s just what partners told me that dCloud does for them. Our partners appreciate the freshness of dCloud’s content, the demo guides and the ease of demo accessibility. Partners told me that our support team is a differentiator! OK yes there are challenges with the new UI, but that doesn’t stop partners from using dCloud and finding new and innovative use cases for dCloud. So if you consider everything Cisco does to “enable” our partners to sell Cisco, you’d have to put Cisco dCloud at the top of the list, so says Jose Bogarin, Chief Innovation Officer at Altus. I for one was very proud to work with Neetta representing dCloud at the summit. By the way, our partners want more dCloud… so fasten your set belts and Full Speed… Damn I love this ride… let’s do this.
Scott-Lee Guard’s is still my favorite. His pictogram-style tweet sums up Cisco dCloud pretty effectively. #CiscoPS16
