Today, we want to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our customers by highlighting three who were selected to receive the 2022 Cisco CX Customer Hero Award. This award is presented to CX Customers to celebrate their stories of innovation and inspire the industry with their incredible successes. Congratulations to our winners! 

Americas: Carnival Corporation

John Harshaw and his team at Carnival partnered with Cisco CX to launch their technological transformation and to become the first cruise line to get all ships back in service after they were halted due to the pandemic. While the ships were out of service, the Carnival and Cisco teams focused on developing and executing Carnival’s “Return to Service” strategy, getting ships ready to sail again to guarantee guests the outstanding experience they expect. The teams worked together to achieve an integrated communications network for each ship by reducing downtime risk, simplifying network operations, and reducing complexity. They also created health scores to allow for data-driven decision-making and to enable proactive scaling and automation of IT operations. This partnership helped Carnival successfully return ships to service and continue to deliver an exceptional experience for their customers and crew.

APJC: Rakuten Mobile

Rakuten Mobile is Japan’s fourth and newest mobile carrier. Cisco Business Critical Services has been a trusted partner for Sharad Sriwastawa and his team in their innovation journey to provide low-cost, high-quality services, including 5G and IoT. Rakuten Mobile was able to accelerate time to market for applications and services through collaboration with Cisco Customer Experience (CX) in planning and management of the architecture design for upgrading their network. Through this initiative, Rakuten’s entire network has accelerated their automation, allowing them to deploy services faster and reduce latency. Through their continued strategic partnership with Cisco, Rakuten Mobile can grow and innovate in new ways, as they work towards their goal of revolutionizing the way people live and work in the 5G era.

EMEAR: Société Générale

Vivien Strady and his team at Société Générale set out to migrate the IT infrastructure to private cloud to deliver even more reliable and secure services to their customers. Cisco Business Critical Services provided the team with expert training to equip them with the skills to complete the transformation themselves, resulting in the majority of the bank’s workload migrating to private cloud. As a result of this initiative, Société Générale was able to reduce operating costs as well. Through their partnership with Cisco CX, Vivien and his team can continue delivering the outstanding service that customers have come to expect from Société Générale.
