2020 has pushed IT departments and infrastructure to respond quicker than ever  – literally overnight. Today’s business environment has drastically changed how companies deliver on customer experience.  This year’s Forrester WaveTM report analyzed the top hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) vendors and their ability to meet changing customer demands, stating “tech leaders expect the simplicity of an HCI system while demanding flexibility to configure the system to serve an application’s specific needs. Achieving the just-right balance between simplicity and configurability is critical to deliver an optimal solution.”

I’m pleased to report that Cisco HyperFlex has been named as a leader in The Forrester Wave™ Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Q3 2020 report. We believe Cisco’s position as a leader confirms that our investments in HyperFlex continues to differentiate our technology innovation in the HCI market. Forrester specifically notes in the report that the HyperFlex technology stack is highly dependable which, in our opinion, is one of the most critical customer buying criteria. As customers are looking modernize datacenters and private clouds with operational simplicity, Cisco’s HyperFlex provides a stable, solid and dependable platform for the most mission critical enterprise applications.

Together with Cisco’s Intersight SaaS management platform, HyperFlex provides the industry’s most simple, intuitive and flexible hyperconverged solution that can be used to power apps and data anywhere.

Continuous Innovation is the key

We believe this year’s Forrester WaveTM report proves that Cisco is pushing the industry forward with hyperconverged infrastructure. We have added new capabilities to HyperFlex that address our customers datacenter modernization initiatives. Since, the last Forrester Wave for HCI in 2018, we’ve introduced new technologies and solutions to:

HyperFlex

We continue to believe that an integrated, turnkey approach is required to both modernize the present and simply the future. The deep integration of the HyperFlex Data Platform with the Cisco UCS compute and networking architecture not only delivers consistent performance for applications but removes many points of complexity through the simplified deployment, management, and holistic support of an HCI appliance. We believe this approach enables IT teams to move faster, better support DevOps teams by offering curated, turnkey environment for cloud native applications, and quickly respond to requests from the business across their core, edge, and cloud environments.

Industry’s simplest HCI solution to manage

Cisco Intersight, the industry’s first cloud based management platform for datacenter infrastructure, continues to transform IT operations and management by enabling IT teams the ability to scale and manage their global IT infrastructure, from anywhere (even their couch), all while continuously delivering new capabilities that address the modern needs of applications and IT infrastructure.

Today, applications are the business. The digital experience is how business will predominantly engage with customers. Businesses need to assure the digital experience in order to deliver the best customer experience. With the introduction of Cisco Intersight Workload Optimizer, we’ve addressed the need for a closed-loop operating model between IT and App Ops teams. We’re enabling IT teams to have a real-time view into application performance and correlating that with the infrastructure resources needed. This assures application performance while maximizing resource utilization by delivering visibility up to the app and down through all the layers of the infrastructure stack including HyperFlex.

We’re not done yet

We’re very proud to have advanced our position as a leader in the 2020 Forrester WaveTM. Our teams have worked tirelessly to build powerful solutions for our customers, and would like to thank Forrester for this recognition. I’d also like to thank all the HyperFlex customers and partners that continue to place their trust with us as we grow. However, we’re not stopping here … we look forward to delivering new innovations such as iSCSI block storage, integrated Kubernetes, expanded hypervisor support, and flexible consumption options including Software Only deployment options for HyperFlex.
