Vijaya Shekar, Program Manager at thingQbator, an Internal incubator for IoT ideas coming from our Engineering community.

Joined Cisco 6 years ago as an Executive Assistant in the Office of EVP, have completed the STAR program in San Jose and am a member of the India Admin Board (IAB). Also 2nd Runner-up, Bangalore Chapter – Indian Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals.

Started my career in the hospitality industry- five Star Hotels: Taj West End, Bangalore and Park Sheraton Chennai - before joining the Telecom industry. I have worked with Ericsson, Wipro, Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) before moving to Cisco.

Am a commerce graduate from Chennai University and have successfully completed Lead Auditor’s course from British Standard Institute (BSI). I am fluent in English, Tamil, Telugu and have a working knowledge of Hindi and Kannada.

My hobbies: dancing (Indian classical, modern, fusion), meditation, yoga, cooking international vegetarian cuisine. I am married to an Army Officer and have an 18 year old son.
