Sreenivas Rao is a Senior Product Manager in Cisco’s Data Center Networking (DCN) group, with nearly 20 years of industry experience. He brings deep expertise in routing, switching, and a broad range of networking technologies. His primary focus is on pervasive network visibility, where he leads Cisco’s Nexus Data Broker (packet broker) solution. In addition, Sreenivas is actively involved in shaping the evolving Open NX-OS architecture—an open, extensible, and highly programmable network operating system—with a strong emphasis on automation and programmability. He is also driving the development of virtualized NX-OS solutions. His other focus areas include optics support for the Nexus 9000 switches and sustaining legacy platforms such as the N7K, N6K, and N5K. Holding dual master’s degrees in computer science and electrical & computer engineering, Sreenivas combines strong technical depth with extensive networking knowledge to deliver innovative solutions, turn challenges into opportunities, and enhance the overall customer experience.
