As Director for the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), a business strategy
consulting group that works with Global 500 clients to transform the way they do business, Mr. van Zanten is driving Strategic Consulting Activities and Thought Leadership in the Retail and Consumer Goods Industries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR) and Latin America and works with many of the leading Global Retail and Consumer Product Manufacturing firms to assist them in defining strategies for transformation and successful competition in today’s economy.

He combines his deep expertise in these industries with his knowledge of Internet solutions and ICT. Mr. van Zanten has also led Strategic Consulting Activities for IBSG in Emerging Markets and other Enterprise Sectors like Finance, Oil & Gas, Energy, Transport, and Manufacturing Industries.

He joined Cisco in September 1999. Prior to that, Mr. van Zanten held various management
positions within Fujitsu/ ICL—Retail Systems Division. His accomplishments include the
establishment and management of two strategic business streams and the successful
implementation of a major transformation of the sales force. Prior to this role, he was responsible for all sales and consultancy activities in Holland and the overall marketing program in the Benelux in the Retail and Consumer Goods sector.

Mr. van Zanten is a passionate individual that combines seasoned consulting skills with a solid Sales and Marketing background and Strong Leadership skills. He is a critical thinker and has the ability to mix and match Strategy and Tactics easily. He is a strong team worker with a great sense of responsibility and Integrity. He earned his bachelor’s degree in commercial economics from HEAO in Utrecht and has an Executive MBA from Ashridge Business School, UK.
