Roland Acra

Roland Acra joined Cisco in November 2016 and leads the product teams focused on data center switching, unified computing, application modeling, and data-driven analytics for network automation and policy.

From 2013 through 2016, Roland consulted about predictive analytics and statistical inference models for Internet of Things (IoT) and smart grid applications. He was previously CEO of Arch Rock, a sensor networking startup acquired by Cisco in 2010 as part of its Smart Grid business unit.

Prior to Arch Rock, he was CEO of Procket Networks. From 1991 through 2003, Roland held several general management and executive leadership positions at Cisco in the United States and EMEA.

Roland's expertise is in Internet routing, distributed systems, sensor networks, and statistical learning algorithms. He is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Télécom ParisTech (France) and holds an MSc degree in statistics from Texas A&M, where he presently advises on the Masters in Analytics program.
