RACHAEL CHAMBERS, is a 17 year Cisco veteran with experience in multiple organizations including Strategy, Planning and Operations, Global Accounts and IT. Previous to Cisco, her career includes tenures at Google, Netscape, Excite and MCI. She holds a BA from the University of California at San Diego. In February 2021, Rachael joined the People and Communities organization as a Director in the Office of Transformation. Most recently, she was the Director of Strategy and Planning for Cisco’s Global Enterprise West (GESW) sales team. In her role, she partnered with the Area Vice President and leadership team to provide strategic direction and translate the high-level strategy into field-level functional impact for the $2B sales organization. This included developing and implementing business processes with associated success metrics, training programs and executive level communications. She also partnered with key stakeholders across the area and segment in order to build strong strategic partnerships and joint strategies. Operationally, she lead the yearly Fiscal New Year Planning process with the Finance and Sales Advisor teams. She served as the co-chair for the Global Enterprise Segment Culture team focused on programs that drove employee recruitment, recognition, retention. Rachael also leads the GES Give Back initiative for the Covenant House. In 2019, she successfully led the effort for the Covenant House that resulted in Cisco being awarded the “Partner of the Year” for the top fundraising company, raising over $2.4M for youth experiencing homelessness in the US and Canada. In 2019, she was inducted into the Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame for the “Don’t Give Up” award. Prior to her current role, she was responsible for the strategic evolution, management and execution of “Cisco IT Data Center Day”, an annual event in Allen, Texas for customers and corresponding account teams. Data Center Day is designed to inform customers on key technologies, meet with Cisco Executives and experience the LEED-Gold certified Allen Data Center. The event went global and virtual in February 2016 with the completion of the first EMEAR Data Centre Day in Bedfont Lakes. Along with Data Center Day, she also successfully launched the IT Advisor Program which partners Cisco on Cisco IT and Technical leaders with the top account teams, customers and executive sponsors to create mutual strategic goals, resulting in long term, IT l peer to peer customer relationships. Under her leadership, the program grew 114% with expansion from top tier accounts to next generation Transformational accounts. Key program results included competitive displacement, deal closure, reduction in the sales cycle and increased customer satisfaction. It also included a comprehensive set of metrics to ensure program success. Rachael was a Master Instructor for Project Management at the UCSC Extension Certificate Program for Executive and Administrative Professionals. In this role, she was also an Advisory Board member for this program. Along with these roles, she taught courses in Communications and Practicum. Her passion for teaching has always played a key role in her career by providing mentorship as well as participating in teams and committees focused on furthering the careers and job development for others. Her family includes her husband of 20 years, two children, 5 dogs, 9 cats and various other rescued creatures. She is very active in animal rescue and volunteers for 2ndChance4Pets.org. She is an avid photographer and huge San Jose Sharks hockey fan.

Data Center Day Shines in the Lone Star State

The third annual Cisco IT Data Center Day put a spotlight on the Internet of Everything (IoE) market transition and gains of deploying an Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).
