Mauricio Cruz Covarrubias

Mauricio Cruz Covarrubias is Sr Director, Product Management in Cisco’s Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group, responsible for the Core and Edge Service Provider business. In this role, Mauricio leads the product management organization chartered for delivering industry leading technologies for Service Provider and Webscale customers. The product portfolio under his supervision includes the Cisco 80000, NCS 5500 and ASR9000 and solutions such as Cisco’s Converged SDN Transport and Routing Optical Networking. Previously, Mauricio had the role of Technical Sourcing Manager at Meta, formerly known as Facebook, he was responsible for developing strategic vendor relationships across a variety of network roles which included Data center, Optical Systems (Metro, Terrestrial, Subsea) and IP Routing. Prior to Facebook, Mauricio held a variety of leadership roles at Cisco, including product management of Cisco’s Core Routing portfolio (GSR and CRS) and sales engineering for large Service Providers. Mauricio holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications from Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico. Outside of work he likes to go camping with his family and biking.
