José Luis Salazar reports directly to the Global Partner Organization at Cisco since 2012. In his current role, he is responsible for leading the Go-To-Market strategy for the engagement with business partners for Cisco's Energy and Transportation vertical solutions globally. His main focus is the creation of a Global Partner Ecosystem to drive Cisco's IoT & Digital Transformation solutions for the Electrical Utilities, Oil & Gas, Railways, Mass Transit and Roadways vertical markets in close collaboration with other Cisco stake holders, including the Industry Solutions Group, the regional sales teams and the IoT Industrial Networking & IoT Software Engineering teams.

José Luis joined Cisco in 2006 as an Enterprise Systems Engineer. For over 3 years he was the Emerging Technologies technical lead in Ireland where he was recognized for strategic wins in Emerging Technologies, such as the Physical Security and Digital Media deployments in the new Terminal in Dublin Airport and Air France’s City Jet Digital Media. In 2010 José Luis became a Territory Business Manager driving key customer accounts and managing a large territory, after that he became a Large Opportunities Account Manager for Partner Led in Ireland responsible for managing Commercial accounts with a high revenue potential.

Prior to Cisco, José Luis worked in R&D and Pre-Sales roles in the Service Provider Eircom, Ericsson Eurolab Deutschland and Nortel Networks in Germany, Sweden and Ireland in projects ranging from software development and prototyping of encryption payment algorithms to telecommunications management systems, unified communications, mobility, security and internetworking.

José Luis holds a Master of Science in Engineering (M.Sc.Eng.) in Data Communications from the Departments of Electronic & Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, his dissertation focus was “Data communications by means of buried pipelines” for British Gas and he was awarded a scholarship by the National Council on Science and Technology of Mexico to course his degree. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electronics & Communications with a Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
