John Brookbank

John Brookbank is the Vice President for Americas Distribution Sales at Cisco and is responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, operations, and logistics for the multi-billion-dollar Americas Distribution Channel. John brings a long history with resellers, a deep understanding of the reseller business and more than 34 years of sales leadership experience, both direct and within the channel. Prior to Cisco, he held a wide range of sales leadership positions, including Vice President and General Manager at Expanets, Regional Channel Director for Avaya, and Mid-Atlantic Sales Director for Lucent Technologies.
As a 19+ year Cisco veteran, John began as the leader for the East Channel Collaboration organization, followed by successful roles as Regional Manager of the D.C. Metro Commercial Region, Manager of Partner Operations for the Mid-Atlantic, and Senior Director for the East Field Partner Organization. John has led numerous cross-functional efforts to transform internal processes and developed several initiatives to integrate channel and field sales strategies where he spearheaded strong segment alignment while fostering profitability, loyalty and growth in the partner base.
John currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Capital Area Chapter. In 2016, he was named Man of the Year, National Capital Area Chapter. His passions for giving something of yourself and taking a bold step, while always giving your best, are the principles he uses to guide his decisions and lead his team. No matter the job, John has always been committed to mentoring and cultivating strong collaborative teams. He firmly believes that it is only through diverse perspectives that we can achieve success and continually improve upon our own leadership.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Maryland, College Park. John and his wife, Renee, live in Leesburg, Virginia. He has three children, Sydney, Spencer, and Lindsey.
