Divya Rao is a Technical Marketing Engineer at Cisco. She started her career at Cisco 14 years ago as a Customer Support Engineer in San Jose TAC. Since then, she has worked on both enterprise and data center networking in technical marketing roles.

From her early TME days when she used to deploy the Catalyst 6500 platform as the network backbone at global events, to her current focus on network programmability in NX-OS, she has always enjoyed being hands-on with Cisco switches. She maintains an active CCIE certification in Routing and Switching since 2009.

She has presented at Cisco Live across technology tracks including routing and switching, network management and data center networking.

Divya holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston, where she partnered with NASA for her research work and publications. Prior to joining Cisco, she worked as a software engineer with Infosys.

When she is not configuring switches, Divya enjoys swimming, hiking and being a hands-on mom.
