Corey P. Schultz is the Director of Cybersecurity Engineering for U.S. Public Sector at Cisco Systems, where he leads a team of Security Engineers and Architects supporting State, Local, Education, and Federal customers. In this role, Corey is solely focused on advancing cybersecurity outcomes across government, helping agencies modernize their security architectures, adopt Zero Trust principles, and strengthen resilience against evolving threats.
With more than 25 years of experience spanning cybersecurity, enterprise networking, and technical leadership, Corey has held multiple senior architecture and leadership roles at Cisco. Prior to his current position, he served as Senior Leader for Security Architecture in Cisco’s SLED East organization, where he guided large-scale security transformations and helped public-sector customers navigate complex risk, compliance, and modernization challenges.
Corey is a published author of Kali Linux Cookbook (Second and Third Editions), a Cisco CCIE, and a passionate advocate for cybersecurity education and workforce development. He serves as a lead for Cisco’s participation in the Air and Space Force Association’s CyberPatriot program, mentoring students and supporting STEM outreach nationwide. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Charter Oak State College and an MBA from Post University, and continues his lifelong learning through advanced studies in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and leadership.
Corey brings a practitioner’s perspective on securing public-sector environments, aligning cybersecurity strategy to mission outcomes, and building high-performing teams to meet today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape.
