Cable’s digital transformation has been focused on the access network transformation.

The Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) is poised to lead that transformation. While technology has been standardized and well-vetted by vendors and operators, adoption has been slow. One of the challenges faced by operators is the lack of cross-functional automation and orchestration tools. Due to the lack of cross-functional tools, operators can’t overcome scaling challenges and drive operational efficiencies.

Cisco took the best practices from customer DAA deployments and is announcing a “DAA Automation Offer” to help accelerate the deployment of DAA. The packages use proven technology components from Cisco, such as NSO and BPA workflow engine as building blocks. The “Automation Packages” enable you to easily operationalize DAA. The DAA use cases included in this package are:

  • CCAP-Core Onboarding & activation
  • RPD On-boarding & activation
  • CIN On-boarding & activation
  • OS Upgrade Management CCAP-Core
  • OS Upgrade Management CIN
  • Golden Config and compliance management

Please come by the Cisco booth #1301 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans to learn more about these use cases. Download the cable DAA Automation white paper to learn more about our solution to your DAA operational challenges.

Also, join us at the show for the “Distributed Access Architecture and the Evolution of Remote PHY DOCSIS” session on Tuesday, Oct. 1
