It’s been a busy week! Cisco Live 2019 finally drew to a close last Friday after five days filled to the brim with technical presentations, workshops, networking events and more. For Service Providers, it was a rich opportunity to learn about Cisco’s strategic vision from our top-level executives, while also gaining highly technical product information and insights from our engineers. If you’ve missed the event, watch this summary video!

The fact that almost 1-in-5 Cisco Live attendees were Service Providers, attests that this is now a hugely significant event for our Service Providers, with more than 30% increase in attendees compared to last year. For the first time, we had a Service Provider Opening Session, where Jonathan Davidson, SVP of Cisco’s Service Provider Business, delivered a compelling keynote on Reimagining Service Provider Infrastructure.

One of the most popular areas at the event itself was the Service Provider Hub within the World of Solutions zone. The hub was packed out throughout the week and provided first-hand experience of the transition to 5G. Specific solutions on display included 5G network slicing to support the needs of different applications and use cases; agility through NFV deployment; automation and how to reduce costs; and use cases on how to make money, such as the deployment of SD-WAN solutions. Throughout the week we were also able to demonstrate how we continue to expand partnerships. Our customers were keen to share and exchange their own stories providing a strong endorsement of our collaborative partnership approach, and our ability to meld business experience with technical expertise.
