With increasing workload, there is a choice a business must make whether to hire and train new resources or utilise the existing ones but that has its limitation. The other way is to automate the process and have robots that emulate humans’ actions interacting with digital systems and software. Just like people, software robots can do things like understand what’s on a screen, complete the right keystrokes, navigate systems, identify and extract data, and perform a wide range of defined actions. But software robots can do it faster and more consistently than people, without the need to get up and stretch or take a coffee break.

Robotic process automation streamlines workflows, which makes organizations more profitable, flexible, and responsive. It also increases employee satisfaction, engagement, and productivity by removing mundane tasks from their workdays.

Software robots do repetitive and lower-value work, like logging into applications and systems, moving files and folders, extracting, copying, and inserting data, filling in forms, and completing routine analyses and reports. When robots do these types of repetitive, high-volume tasks, humans are freed to focus on the things they do best and enjoy more: innovating, collaborating, creating, and interacting with customers.

And that’s what we did. We brought in and trained Chikki – the BOT, which is now successfully handling the publishing process in Cisco Black Belt Academy. The sheer number of assets we can publish now was a far reach earlier.

During our Annual Content refresh, publishing was a gargantuan task where not just publishing team, but others also needed to chip in to accomplish it. However, this time around with the deployment of Chikki, it has been a smooth sailing. Chikki along with publishing team’s supervision has published all the assets in such a short span.

Once a publishing request is submitted, from this point on the publishing process is fully automated.

Realising Chikki’s capabilities, we have now trained it to even extend the expiry of the assets as well. Exploring more avenues to deploy Chikki and when we do it, will surely write about it.
