In an announcement earlier today, we introduced Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services, the industry’s first threat-focused next-generation firewall. We also are announcing the continued evolution of Cisco’s Security Channel Partner Program to substantially increase a Cisco partner’s Security business.
Security Ignite
With Security Ignite, security specialized partners get additional upfront discounts (up to 6 percent) on new next-generation security business registered through the Opportunity Incentive Program (OIP) or Teaming Incentive Program (TIP). Deal registration encourages and protects a partner’s investments in developing new next-generation security opportunities. Security Ignite works in concert with the Technology Migration Program (TMP) and the Value Incentive Program (VIP). This powerful combination reinforces the focus on partners developing new security solution opportunities. Security Ignite is available in all theatres, with a few exceptions.
Specialization
We have also just launched two major security specializations. The new Advanced Security Architecture Specialization is now available. As announced in March 2014 during Cisco Partner Summit, this new architecture specialization has been created to provide partners with the expertise to capture new opportunities, integrate security across their entire portfolio, and meet customer’s security needs. It offers partners increased paths to greater profitability by focusing on Cisco Security, especially differentiated next generation security solutions. It offers industry-recognized branding and market differentiation.
Also announced is Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), which is part of the Express Security Specialization (ESS). ESS launched this March and is an entry level, low cost specialization that consists of four focused areas [Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), Email, Web Security and now Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NG-IPS)]. With a low cost of entry, partners can recuperate their investment quickly by taking advantage of profitability programs like OIP, VIP, and our new Security Ignite Program.
Cisco is focused on assisting partners to drive growth, be more relevant to customers, and help build new skills and offerings while increasing their profitability and competitiveness.
As always, while I like to share information like this with partners, I really want to get your feedback on the announcement. Please let me know what you think about this latest addition in the comments section below.
