I am proud of the Cisco SD-WAN technology team I work with. We have managed to keep our tools and services ahead of the curve while our customers embrace digital transformation and cloud services.

As customers have told us about their challenges in navigating the shift from traditional routing to SD-WAN architecture, we’ve been listening. We’ve balanced our development to help support this shift while remaining attentive to their primary WAN needs.

A testament to the team’s success in the SD-WAN market can be seen in the recent Dell’Oro market share report. See SD-WAN Market Increased 64% and Surged over $1 Billion in 2019. Dell’Oro continues to place Cisco as the #1 in SD-WAN market share . Cisco was also just named a 2020 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for WAN Edge Infrastructure. You can see what our customers are saying about Cisco at Gartner’s Peer Insights for WAN Edge Infrastructure site.

Cisco SD-WAN solutions offer flexibility for all types of deployments.

Flexibility for Today’s Networks

Our Secure Cloud Scale SD-WAN architecture allows for unparalleled deployment flexibility with centralized management and automation for Direct Internet Access (DIA), Cloud OnRamp connectivity to the leading cloud providers, and a rich set of integrated services. Top capabilities include leadership features in security, cloud, and analytics:

  • Comprehensive security stack, including  cloud security with Cisco Umbrella, complemented with on-premise security for added flexibility.
  • Integration between Cisco SD-WAN and public cloud providers, enabling a seamless and consistent application experience across multiple clouds.
  • Advanced analytics capabilities that deliver the visibility necessary for isolating service issues, planning application provisioning, bandwidth increases, and branch expansions.

Cisco offers best in class software and hardware for SD-WAN. Through our traditional hosted products and our Meraki lines, we support multiple deployment models. Cisco SD-WAN supports the broadest range of options for any location, including both physical and virtual, for the branch or remote office, and for clouds and colocations. We ensure our customers have flexibility and choice for their various use cases.

Partners for Success

We’ve been working with major partners, like Microsoft, AWS and Equinix to bring you the best SD-WAN connectivity options across the network, from enterprise core to the branch and out to the cloud. The partnerships are designed to help enterprises accelerate their cloud strategies. For example, Cisco SD-WAN will integrate with AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) Network Manager and with Azure vWAN to enable centralized management and automation of branch connectivity to AWS and Azure, respectively.

Our Cloud On-Ramp for Colocation solution leverages the partnership with Equinix to enable customers to seamlessly extend their Cisco SD-WAN fabric into colocation facilities and to public clouds.

Customers can utilize a managed service offered by Equinix that employs Cisco SD-WAN; or through a bundle consisting of Cisco SD-WAN hosted on the Cisco Cloud Services Platform and Cisco’s Catalyst 9000 switching fabric.  The solution also supports both Cisco and 3rd party virtual network functions (VNFs).

Cisco continues to enhance SD-WAN multicloud infrastructures, with greater automation, simplicity of management and operations, stronger security, and IoT readiness. It’s clear customers have faith in Cisco’s vision and continue to invest in Cisco to help them on their journey to SD-WAN.
