When my team and I began championing the role of advocacy within Cisco several years ago, our goal at the time was—and remains—to elevate the voices and enthusiasm of Cisco’s most loyal customers, partners, and brand evangelists to drive growth. Growth for Cisco, and growth for our customers’ and partners’ organisations.
We set out to reimagine not just another reference programme, but a strategic customer and partner advocacy vision powered by community engagement and advocate-led storytelling. Most importantly, we wanted to build communities that would serve our customers and partners—something they could call their own, built around their interests, driven by their expertise, and capable of helping them grow professionally and personally.
Five years on, we’ve realised our vision for those vibrant advocacy communities that are now more than 20,000 members strong. And now it’s time to celebrate our customers and partners who are foundational to Cisco’s advocacy success.
Introducing the 2021 Cisco Global Advocate Awards
That’s why I’m so pleased to announce the 2021 Cisco Global Advocate Awards. We can’t yet be with our customers and partners in person but our virtual awards event, scheduled for November 4, 2021, will celebrate Cisco’s passionate advocates—all those who go above and beyond in demonstrating thought leadership and supporting Cisco through success stories, speaking engagements, product reviews, and more.
We’ll reward our top-performing advocates from our Global Gateway customer community and our Marketing Velocity Voice partner community across ten categories, with a mix of advocate self-nominated and Cisco-nominated awards. Jay Baer will join us as host, often referred to as “The World’s Most Inspirational Customer Experience and Marketing Expert.” Our jury panel includes senior marketing, business, and technology leaders from within Cisco, as well as experienced marketing and business leaders from the industry.
