“Do you have a vision for tomorrow? Cisco does.”
Next week I’ll join Chairman and CEO John Chambers and Chief Technology and Strategy Officer Padmasree Warrior to officially kick off Cisco Live 2013 in Orlando, Florida. We’ll be sharing our vision for the new opportunities and amazing things that can happen when you connect the previously unconnected.
The Internet of the future – the Internet of Everything (IoE) – is changing how we work, live, play and learn. During our opening address, my colleagues and I will share our predictions about how the intersection of the four elements of the IoE – people, process, data and things – creates new capabilities and experiences that are more relevant and valuable than ever before.
I’ll give you a hint – it starts with looking at life in 2023. It may surprise you how much is going to change in the next 10 years. Imagine: keeping in touch with family and friends through immersive experience. Scaling healthcare resources through virtualization. Evolving the workplace with new types of employees. Finding an available parking spot through the features of a smart city. Technology will be pervasive – while remaining unobtrusive – and will respond to our gestures, voices, facial features and even our thoughts.
The Internet of Everything is beginning to transform every aspect of our lives, yet we have barely scratched the surface. We are just at the beginning. Less than 1 percent of the world is connected to the Internet. One and a half trillion things are not yet connected. Over the next 10 years, we will see IoE impact every industry. Every part of life. And I can’t wait to tell you more about it.
Join me at Cisco Live on Tuesday, June 25 at 10 a.m. to learn more. For those that cannot attend Cisco Live in person, you can view the opening address (as well as other sessions) via Cisco Live 365. Registration is free.
