Cisco Live Melbourne is right around the corner! Running from 5-8 March 2019 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, it will be my first time representing Cisco at our annual showcase and education event since joining 6 months ago.

I have worked with Cisco solutions for many years as a customer and partner, and I am thrilled to have joined the team as Wireless Technical Solutions Architect for Australia & New Zealand. One of my passions is teaching others about Wi-Fi best practices and fundamentals in order to get the best out of their networks; and it gives me great pleasure to see excited faces when we educate our customers and partners about the latest and greatest Wi-Fi technologies and Cisco solutions.

There are a lot of advancements to Wi-Fi being realized this year, where we will see the ratification of the IEEE 802.11ax amendment and adoption of WPA3. But that’s not all!

We have launched our next generation wireless controller platform, the Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller, which brings unprecedented scale and flexibility in deployment, always-on and secure wireless networking, and fully embraces the programmability and automation era of today and the future.

Cisco has always led the field in wireless location services, and we have just launched Cisco DNA Spaces, our new location services and analytics platform. This solution enables the digitization of spaces and people, allowing businesses to enhance experiences and gain advanced behavioural insights into their wireless environments.

And if you haven’t already, it’s about time you learned how to provision and manage your wireless networks smarter and more intuitively. Enter Cisco DNA Wireless Assurance, where hours of onsite troubleshooting and manual repetition of deployment tasks are a memory of the past!

Where can you learn about these great solutions? At Cisco Live of course!

Intuitive networking wouldn’t be possible without the support of the excellent Cisco Developer community, DevNet. Many of you have already attended our DevNet Express events, getting your heads around Python and our API platforms with real-world examples using DCI, SD-WAN, locations services, Cisco DNA Center, and Meraki technologies. The DevNet team will be in Melbourne in full force, ready to help you on the journey to unlocking the real power of your networks. If you haven’t joined up to the community yet, do so here and keep an eye out for the team in DevNet tshirts!

Cisco Live, or Networkers as it used to be called, found its origins as a technical training program with seminars and breakout sessions. It is great to see how the conference has evolved over the years to include an IT Management Program, Student Summits, the Cisco Empowered Women’s Network, DevNet, and other fantastic initiatives. If you’re reading this post I’m sure it is the mention of Wi-Fi that got your attention, right?!

At Cisco Live Melbourne 2019, I am excited to see that the enterprise mobility track has the greatest proportion of breakout sessions in this year’s agenda, after all it is a wireless world we live in! Check out the sessions in the scheduler here and ensure your seats with some fantastic speakers.

I will be co-presenting the ‘Enterprise WLAN Deployment – TECEWN-2002’ technical seminar, will be hanging around the World of Solutions for Meet The Expert and the APJC TacOps showcase, and am also presenting ‘Understanding RF Design for 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) Wireless Networks – BRKEWN-2017’. I look forward to seeing you there and engaging in some great discussions around Wi-Fi!
