As I mentioned in a previous post, I was in London last week at a conference. I picked up the badge shown in the photo below, and it made me laugh, and I thought it would be a good image to pass on. VCE’s Vblock was the only example of converged infrastructure on show there.
I’m in Cisco Data Center Services – as you can tell from my blog history – and we’ve helped many customers design advanced solutions such as VDI and cloud around our converged infrastructure platforms, Vblock, and FlexPod, working collaboratively with our partners, respectively. Both are based around the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS). Deployments, as I say, are widespread. For example, Sungard have deployed Vblock as part of their private cloud, and FlexPod has been architected into the Microsoft Private Cloud solution.
- So it was good to see a real example of converged infrastructure, in the flesh as it were!
