Hyperconverged Infrastructure or HCI has transformed the way we deploy, scale, and manage the applications that power our business. While HCI systems were primarily designed for core data center environments to power business critical apps, the sources of data for businesses are rapidly changing requiring a new generation of HCI systems engineered to operate at distributed scale. Back in January, we introduced Cisco HyperFlex Anywhere (HyperFlex 4.0) which focuses on new edge innovations to deploy HyperFlex HCI across 10’s, 100’s or 1000’s of edge branch locations with simplicity and visibility-enabling you to help navigate your business anywhere it needs to go.

If you are attending Cisco Live US 2019 in San Diego this year, we are excited to be showcasing all the latest HyperFlex Anywhere innovations at the show:

The New Cisco HyperFlex Edge Running Live in the Cisco Data Center Booth

We invite you to come experience the “HyperFlex Powered Branch” powered by a live HyperFlex Edge cluster in the latest 2-node configuration running essential branch applications like Cisco SD-WAN and Cisco Unified Communications as well as demonstrating key innovation enabled through Cisco Intersight that simplifies deploying, managing and maintaining edge computing solutions.

The HyperFlex powered branch on display at Cisco Live will demonstrate key capabilities that Cisco has engineered into HyperFlex Edge solutions.

Experience the Edge Generation of HCI

Cisco recognizes that the distributed nature of edge computing introduces new challenges not experienced in a centralized location like a core datacenter where deployments are limited to HCI clusters in a single location. Cisco engineered HyperFlex Edge solutions to incorporate innovation beyond converging compute, storage, and networking in a single solution and harnessed the power of a centralized cloud. At the demo, you’ll experience firsthand the simplicity and automation of remotely deploying HyperFlex Edge through Cisco Intersight cloud-based management. You’ll learn how staging equipment is a thing of the past as we demonstrate how you can now deploy sites concurrently with the only job onsite resources have is to plug it in. Once deployed, the ultra-light 2-node cluster will have the resiliency of 3 node level quorum via the Invisible Cloud witness that doesn’t require a 3rdwitness node (or VM) to be located in the datacenter and can be easily managed at a central location.

We’re excited to partner with Schneider Electric as we showcase our HyperFlex Edge cluster in their simplified physical micro datacenter enclosure that provides power and cooling in a soundproof, furniture grade rack that will easily integrate into any branch office or retail location.

Also, on display will be the latest in core data center technology such as the new HyperFlex All NVMe with Intel Optane technology.

While simplicity at the edge is a key new priority, HCI in the core data center needs to continue to meet the demands of latency sensitive mission-critical workloads that require a high-performance solution. As IT operations scale out in a distributed nature, maximizing VM density in the core datacenter becomes critical to preserve and gain overall operational efficiency.

The new Cisco HyperFlex HX220c M5 All NVMe nodes on display in the HyperFlex booth are engineered to deliver a new class of performance to HCI systems to provide datacenter modernization with unmatched VM density and the ability to power even the most performance sensitive workloads. While adoption of all-flash HCI nodes accelerated the migration of mission-critical workloads to HCI, organizations are still left with applications whose performance requirements exceed the capabilities of all-flash, leaving them confined to traditional 3-tier architecture. With the addition to the HX220c All-NVMe nodes, Cisco is making it easier than ever to adopt a modernized high-performance HCI solution to support those applications. Proven to boost performance by up to 71% over all-flash clusters in independent technical lab validation, these dense 1U node configurations extend the HyperFlex portfolio to new performance class of HCI in an enterprise-ready solution optimized to eliminate the reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) challenges that NVMe architecture can introduce.
