As the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Secure WAN and Industrial IoT, Vikas Butaney leads product strategy, roadmap, and development for Cisco Routing and SD-WAN, Industrial Networking, Industrial Cyber Security, and Multicloud Networking. As networking and security become more tightly integrated, Vikas has led the implementation of an SD-WAN offering with comprehensive security built-in. Bringing all these technologies together with the Cisco Networking Cloud vision, Vikas is helping customers simplify, secure, and scale their businesses. Vikas engages closely with customers across key industries like manufacturing, retail, financial services, energy, and the public sector as they undergo digital transformation – increasing the emphasis of their security practice, moving toward cloud-based and hybrid operating models, and securely connecting assets, applications, and data from their offices to their operational areas. His team of developers, product managers, technical marketers, industry experts, and business development professionals have enabled hundreds of thousands of successful SD-WAN, security, and IIoT deployments. Vikas has developed several successful incubation businesses by fostering innovative teams and pioneering new business models. Prior to this role, Vikas held the position of VP, Product Management for Cisco Industrial IoT and other leadership roles in Cisco network engineering. Vikas also brings experience from working at cloud and mobility start-ups including Accelera and Mobile Iron. Vikas serves on the board of directors for Seeq. Vikas earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering focusing on Optical and Data Communications from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
