Thomas Kernen is a Technical Leader in Cisco's Service Provider Video Software and Solutions group. His main area of focus is defining architectures for transforming the broadcast industry to an All IP Video infrastructure.
He is a member of the IEEE Communications and Broadcast Societies, the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the Royal Television Society (RTS). He is active within a number of trade and industry organisations including the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) Project, the SMPTE Standards Committees and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) working groups.
