Steve Vida is a Cybersecurity Architect within Cisco’s Information Technology organization, where he has been a driving force in protecting Cisco’s global infrastructure and intellectual property since 2003. Steve specializes in advanced threat solution design, endpoint security, and the integration of AI/ML to harden enterprise defenses. A key contributor to the "Cisco-on-Cisco" initiative, Steve has served at five Cisco Live events—including Las Vegas, San Diego, Cancun, and Amsterdam. During these global events, he designed ransomware simulation labs and advised global customers on deploying endpoint security at scale, building resilience against the most significant threat facing organizations today. His technical expertise in high-stakes environments led to his selection for the 2026 RSA Conference Security Operations Center (SOC) team and the Black Hat USA Network Operations Center (NOC). Prior to joining Cisco, Steve studied Computer Science Engineering at UC Berkeley, where he first identified his passion for computer security. His early career provided a front-row seat to large-scale IT operations, beginning with an internship at Andersen Consulting and a role at DreamWorks SKG in Hollywood, the innovative startup founded by Steven Spielberg. He further advanced his security expertise in the high-pressure, zero-downtime world of Bank of America Securities and Global Investment Banking. Working on the trading floor of the iconic San Francisco TransAmerica building, Steve was responsible for designing and securing mission-critical trading workstations where system availability was paramount. When he isn’t securing the enterprise, Steve applies the same dedication to his fitness as he does to cybersecurity—whether he’s surfing, biking, hitting the hiking trails, or mastering his craft in the gym.
