As the Director of Cisco’s Cloud Infrastructure and Software Group (CISG) in Australia / New Zealand, Simon Miceli is responsible for leading sales and GTM execution of Cisco’s cloud, compute and data centre networking portfolio. A dynamic role that involves deep partnerships with technology alliances, consulting firms, and systems integrators to accelerate growth in the mature markets of compute (UCS) and DC networking (Nexus), while penetrating new markets with emerging cloud and software technologies such as HyperFlex (HCI), Intersight Cloud Operations Platform, and Nexus Cloud.
As a nine-year veteran of Cisco with 20 years in the industry, Simon has cultivated extensive data centre and cloud experience including a three year stint in the worldwide CISG team as the global lead for UCS and HyperFlex based out of New York City (major bucket list item), and before that in the Australian data centre team; a team that led Cisco to be the market share leader in x86 blade servers in Australia - the first team to achieve this globally.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Simon holds bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Swinburne University, as well as an MBA from Melbourne Business School at The University of Melbourne. In his spare time, Simon enjoys a round of golf, watching his beloved Blues in the AFL, and enjoying the world class gastronomy of his home city. With a young family, most of that is now a distant memory.
