Scott Wierstra

Scott Wierstra is the MR Product Manager, driving wireless innovation using Cisco Meraki. He is responsible for both the wireless firmware program as well as dashboard features.

Since joining Meraki in 2017, he has been instrumental in launching key new features at Meraki, highlighted by the launch of Meraki Wireless Health. This innovative feature was launched in early 2018 and is now available to all Meraki MR customers, and is deployed on over 3.5 million access points today. He has a deep understanding of the benefits of cloud managed network devices, and how being a cloud managed product allows unique insights to drive rapid feature development and high quality products. He is most interested in deep technological innovation.

Scott grew up in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and has been earning his stripes in enterprise IT since the late 1990’s. This included driving the transition of campus Wi-Fi adoption at the University of Alberta in the early 2000’s.

Since moving to the San Francisco Bay area, he has enjoyed stints consulting for GoPro cameras and most recently at Mimosa Networks. At Mimosa networks, he helped launched a cloud based platform for a new startup from scratch that focused on fixed wireless connectivity to the home.
