Rashmi joined CISCO over 5 ½ years ago. She is the sole Interaction/Visual/Graphic Designer, User Researcher, and ScrumMaster for COSMOSX (Software Excellence Award recipient at 2018 Develop@CISCO). She was one of the UX designers for EPNM (Evolved Programmable Network Manager) prior to moving to SPNS XR group. Prior to CISCO, she worked as a UX Designer/Business Analyst for several companies in Networking, Banking, and Travel Club.
Rashmi’s holds 2 master’s degrees and her 2 papers, one in each Marketing and Finance, were published at the 2008 India-USA Global Business, PR, and Cultural Environment Conference. She is a record holder in ‘Limca Book of Records’ (Indian equivalent of Guinness Book of World Record) for writing a meticulous diary for over 11 years. She also won Website Design award from Lions Clubs International.
Rashmi is a very organized and social person. She was a board member of local Rotary Club. At the age of 14, she became the president of Jaycees International organization’s local kid’s club.
Rashmi is a single mom of a very proud daughter, who won a National Gold Medal Award in ‘Digital Art’ category. Her daughter goes to ArtCenter College of Design – an ivy league college in her major of study called ‘Entertainment Art’.
Rashmi is openly gay. She served on the Trikone Board as an IT Liaison (Trikone is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) people of South Asian descent). She represented Women-of-Trikone at the 2010 NQAPIA Chicago Regional Summit held in Chicago. Her poems were published in the Trikone magazine. She shared her story in API Family Pride’s ‘Coming Out Coming Home’, a video published to help LGBT members in their coming out process and help families understand, accept and respect their LGBT children. Her SF Pride Parade picture holding the Trikone banner was featured in the Bollywood Solidarity song.
‘Take that 1st Step’ and ‘Find a solution’ are her beliefs.
