Lorenzo is a seasoned product management executive with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specializing in Optical Transport. As a strong advocate for Cisco Routed Optical Networking solutions, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s product strategy and innovation in this domain.
Since joining Cisco in 2000, Lorenzo has led the management of long haul and extended long haul product portfolios, with a focus on developing flexible and integrated transport networks. He currently heads the Product Management and Technical Marketing teams for Optical Systems and Coherent Optics, driving the roadmap and go-to-market strategies for Cisco’s industry-leading solutions.
Lorenzo was a key member of the original Cisco core team responsible for the development of Converged Transport functionalities and ROADM solutions across multiple flagship platforms, including ONS 15454 MSTP, NCS 2000, NCS 4000, and NCS 1000. His leadership and technical expertise have contributed to numerous advancements and several patents in the optical transport field.
Based in Vimercate, Italy, Lorenzo holds a master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. Prior to joining Cisco, he served as Product Line Manager at Pirelli Optical Systems.
