But we’re excited to give you a sneak peek into something usually only our employees get to experience at our company store. Every day, Cisco works alongside our partners to transform retail shopping around the world, but did you know that we started at our own front door?
We wanted to develop a living lab to showcase and test the latest and greatest retail technologies, while also creating the best retail experience for our employees, customers and partners. And we knew we knew just where to turn. By leveraging our own technology and our partners’ best-in-class solutions, we could improve operations, empower associates, and enhance the customer experience.
Imagine this, you’re trying on a shirt in the fitting room when you get a notification that there is a hoodie and a jacket that completes the look. You tap to call a Connected Cisco Store associate to bring you the matching items. When you’re done, scan and pay for everything right from your phone. You don’t even have to take them off, unless you want to remove the tags.
Combining a numbers of Cisco technologies – Cisco Connected Mobile Experience, Cisco Webex Board, Cisco Wireless 4800 Access Points, Cisco Meraki Security – to name a few – plus partner technologies such as, Mishipay, Asynchrony, StoreAdvise, Apple, and Intel, the future of retail is realized.
The power of our ecosystems working together creates an incredible journey throughout our store. The inventory system from StoreAdvise talks to Intel sensors to alert associates as to exactly what is on the shelves at any given moment. Mishipay then allows customers to scan and purchase merchandise with their mobile device. Asynchrony’s associate app technology even features a heat map that allows associates to find customers at their exact in-store location.
What is most impressive is that everything is built on existing operations, which creates a real-world case study for customers and employees to experience future of retail, now. Frictionless payment, smart fitting rooms, and connected sensors make for a seamless customer experience. Smart inventory management and an associate app empowers associates to provide exceptional service. Though this is technically impressive, what this really translates to is an easier and more fun shopping experience’s for employees and Cisco customers alike. So, watch out, online shopping, the physical store is going digital, too.
