I believe we live in the best of times.  The way we work has dramatically changed in just the last decade.  Technology is helping make quantum leaps in medicine, healthcare, manufacturing, and other areas of science.  Already, people are making their way to work in self-driving cars. More and more workers are mobile and working from wherever they are. Today’s workforce demands access to applications and data at any time on a wide range of devices.  We are seeing the future of work changing right in front of us.

Cisco and Citrix have made significant moves to help enable the future of work. I have curated a snapshot view of the announcements over the last few weeks to help you make this a reality.

Bulletproofed Solution with Citrix HCI Workspace Appliance Verification

While at Citrix Summit in early January we announced the availability of the HyperFlex for Citrix Cloud services. Even better this carries the Citrix Ready certification.  Now IT can take advantage of performance and the ease of deployment.

This is a pre-integrated, fully validated, and supported solution by Cisco and Citrix.

This reduces the complexities, downtime and finger pointing that often occurs with a multi-vendor solution.  Read our blog from January for more.

Cisco was awarded the Citrix Global Partner Innovation Award for Cloud Acceleration at the Citrix Summit event.

Citrix Cloud comes to Cisco HyperFlex

On January 15 we held a brief webinar to showcase the new technology integration with HyperFlex. In this webinar we discussed the changing nature of work as well as the future of work, what the Cisco HyperFlex for Citrix Cloud solution is all about, took a quick look at the technical aspects, and a demonstratration of the solution using Cisco’s dCloud. This is a great way to see our solution and how it can help IT navigate the complexities of digital transformation.

HyperFlex Anywhere simplifies branch deployment

In late January we announced Cisco HyperFlex Anywhere, aka HyperFlex 4.0, at Cisco Live Barcelona.  This extends the HyperFlex platform from the core to the edge.  The thought of deploying of new infrastructure to multiple sites, whether local or even geographically disperse, can be daunting.  Just consider for a moment the logistical complexities of multiple states and sending your IT team there to do the installation.  And that doesn’t take into account the time it would consume.  Our HyperFlex edge nodes are ready to be installed with Cisco Intersight.  This is a fully automated installation of HyperFlex clusters. You can read more about this announcement here.

Cisco HyperFlex extends Citrix Workspace to the edge

In support of our announcement at Cisco Live Barcelona, Steve Wilson, Citrix VP of Cloud, published an article describing how HyperFlex Anywhere will work with Citrix Workspaces.  Whether you are deploying Citrix workloads to a branch office or for a small business the Cisco HyperFlex for Citrix Cloud services solution may be just what you need. Read more about Steve’s blog.
