What Makes Meetings #Webexceptional?

October 9, 2018 - 0 Comments

I joined Cisco seven weeks ago to lead marketing for the Collaboration business. I am privileged and honored to be the leader of one of the world’s loved brands in collaboration – Webex. Throughout my career, I’ve used many video and web conferencing solutions. While there are a variety of collaboration tools in the market, there is a huge difference between each offering. For me, the simplicity in joining and the overall quality make Webex Meetings stand out from all the others, especially when there are several hundred folks joining the meeting anytime, anywhere, from their desktops or mobile devices.

But there are so many other elements that make Webex Meetings exceptional. Here is where I see it standing out among all our competitors, big and small.

It’s trusted.

More people choose Webex Meetings than all other vendors, combined.

Cisco Webex Meetings hosts more than 70 billion meeting minutes every year with over 113 million people collaborating on our platform each month. It’s no surprise that we’re the vendor of choice for 95% of Fortune 500 companies. And it’s no surprise that we are a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions 2018.

And our Cisco Webex Meetings customers agree.

“Webex is a huge thing for us, it’s part of everyone’s day to day operations. The competence and trust-level of knowing that Webex works well every time is the most important thing to me.”
– Scott Richert, Vice President Enterprise Services, Mercy Technology Services

“Webex Meetings tools are the cornerstone of what we use in our classrooms.”
– Ian Callahan, COO of Curtin University

“From a security compliance perspective, we pretty much get audited by anything you can imagine. There are so many cloud services I can’t use as a law firm because of the restrictions I have for compliance. But we can use Webex for everything.”
– Andy Jurczyk, CIO, Seyfarth Shaw

It’s all new.

Experience the modern, video-centric experience.

If you haven’t seen Webex Meetings lately, you should. Introduced earlier this year, the new desktop app delivers simpler, more modern video meetings. We analyzed our data. We listened to you. And we made meetings better, designing an experience that better aligns with how you work today – and will in the futures. Webex Meetings is now a video-first experience with centralized controls plus integrated scheduling and calendar management. You can even control who and what you see during the meeting – including up to 25 of your teammates at once.

It’s simple and consistent.

Get a consistent experience no matter which device you use.

With Cisco, you can be sure that you’ll have a consistent experience, whether you’re joining from a web link, a mobile device, the desktop app, or a Cisco video device. No matter how you join Webex Meetings, you have a great experience. Just click the big green join button on the device you’re using.

Ever tried to schedule a meeting on a mobile device? It’s not easy, but scheduling Webex Meetings is simple on all devices. With Webex Hybrid Calendar Service automatically populates the join information. No need to remember a personal room ID, paste join info, or add a plug-in as with other vendors.

Worried about guest users having a hassle joining a meeting? Don’t. The browser experience doesn’t require downloads or plugins. They just click the link in the invite to join. Unlike our competitors, participants and hosts get all core meeting capabilities in the browser – audio, video, and screen or application sharing.

It’s scalable.

A seamless solution that scales to your business needs.

Webex Meetings can support meetings of nearly any size. Webex Meetings supports up to 1,000 people on video – our closest competitor is 500. Need to have an even bigger meeting? No problem. Webex has solutions that scale to more than 100,000 attendees.

And if your work style or business needs evolve? No problem. Our products are designed to let you work the way you want to work. It’s not about us. It’s about you. Webex Meetings is part of a full portfolio of solutions that include video devices, calling, and team collaboration. For example,

Are you ready to add video devices to your meeting rooms? Cisco video devices integrate with Webex Meetings. Just walk into a room and join and share wirelessly right from the app. Our all-in-one video devices are easy to set up – no need for 29 management touch points or four different vendors. With clean design and ease of use, you can’t go wrong.

Do your teams need to keep the productivity going beyond the meeting? Included with Webex Meetings, Cisco Webex Teams provides team collaboration so people can easily stay connected between meetings to message, share content, and get work done.

It delivers quality.

Webex Meetings is the only cloud service built and optimized for real-time media.

We’ve spent the past decade building the Webex backbone. It connects the entire world of Webex with a high-quality, redundant, media-optimized network. So when you have global meetings, the traffic hops onto the Webex backbone at the closest point to minimize the time on the public internet. The result? A better quality meeting experience.

Before joining Cisco, I used whatever meeting solution my company had implemented. But if I’d had a choice, I would have chosen Webex Meetings — every time. And now, as part of Cisco, I know more about all the elements that make Webex Meetings the industry leader. So not only do I get to work with a great team, I get to use the best technology to do it.

If you haven’t tried Webex Meetings recently, you should.
