Worldwide Service Provider Marketing
Suraj Shetty is the vice president of marketing for the Cisco Worldwide Service Provider Marketing organization and leads a number of teams responsible for driving service provider success in development and deployment of advanced services based on Cisco products and solutions. His principal areas of focus include enabling service providers to transform into experience providers through the Cisco IP Next Generation network (IP NGN) architecture and deliver rich Connected Life experiences. Shetty is also focused on the acceleration of advanced IP technologies through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), and other industry standards bodies.
Shetty is a frequent speaker at industry events and symposia and is a principal Cisco spokesperson to press as well as both industry and financial analysts.
Shetty has held many product management and marketing roles in his 11 years at Cisco, including two-tier distribution channel marketing, product marketing for DSL-related products and solutions, and the Cisco Broadband Aggregation solution portfolio. Prior to his current position, Shetty served as director of marketing in the Cisco Service Provider Routing Technology Group with responsibility for service provider core and edge routing products.
Prior to joining Cisco, Shetty was a Senior Engineering Consultant at Eicon Technology, focused on Systems Network Architecture (SNA) gateway and routing solutions. Shetty holds a M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a bachelor of engineering degree in electronics and communications from Karnatak University in India. He lives in San Jose with his wife and two children.
